After your child’s appointment, we reward them with a dental gift bag including a brush, floss, toothpaste, and more to get them excited about their trip to the dentist's office. We believe that by starting dental care at an early age, it is easier to establish healthy home care habits and prevention.

Your First Visit to Toledo Dental Arts
Initially, on your first visit, it is necessary that you fill out your new patient paperwork. The reason for doing this is that it allows for our staff to get to know you better as an individual. Unfortunately, on this initial visit, many new patients ask about receiving their first dental treatment. However, normally treatments begin at the next appointment which may be scheduled as early as the very next day. The reason for doing this is that provides the dentists an opportunity to see you first for a comprehensive exam in order to create a treatment plan that more accurately addresses any underlying issues that you may have as opposed to just treating your symptoms.
When you visit our office in Toledo, OH, the first step will be to sit down with our dentist to just discuss your medical history, previous dental work, and the reason that you are seeking dental treatment currently. After that, a detailed oral examination will be conducted to create the treatment plan that is custom to your dental needs. The treatment plan is a very important step as it creates a simple and organized path to your excellent dental health.
The dentist may or may not suggest taking a set of X-rays depending on your previous dental history. The purpose of this would be to allow the dentist to better examine your mouth as a whole because some things may not been seen without them. In some cases, such as for denture wearers, X-rays may actually be required. It may be required so that the dentist can determine if you have sufficient bone, check for cysts, lesions, bone fractures, etc.
We are dedicated to providing you the best dental care possible. Our goal is to resolve the problems that you are having currently as well as problems that you may have in the future and as soon as possible to avoid any unnecessary growing expenses. We offer this at competitive and affordable prices while you are still receiving first-rate care.
The next step in the process would be to sit down with our Office Manager to discuss any questions or concerns that you may have. This may include the best payment option that works most comfortably for you, what your dental insurance covers, and whatever else comes to mind. The more questions you have, the more answers we will be happy to provide for you.
After your first appointment, we like to prepare a copy of your treatment plan for you so that you may take it home. Along with the treatment plan, we prepare an estimated quote for the treatments that were recommended by the dentist and an appointment card as a reminder of any upcoming appointments that you may have.
